Williams is a Baltimore-based
writer specializing in travel and culture with a recent interest in travelling
with kids after two successful trips to Asia with a toddler. She
has contributed to numerous Lonely Planet guidebooks,
including best-selling Thailand
and Southeast Asia on a
Shoestring .
Other
assignments have taken her to such diverse destinations as Malaysia, New York City, Sumatra, and
New Orleans. She has worked on a handy and highly portable
walking guide series for Chronicle Books and her articles have appeared in
various magazines and newspapers.
China
Williams grew up in South Carolina; earned a
philosophy degree from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland; taught
English in Thailand; and has previously worked as an editor for travel,
geology, and health publications. Most days she is a full-time
mom with travel writing as a side job and her two-year-old son as a sidekick.
